Husam el Odeh lends me his gorgeous jewellery for the wedding

I haven't switched on my laptop for a week.  For a total addict like me that's a record!  I am now SO behind with everyone and it's bothering me.  I can't wait to catch up properly.  I always make the effort to comment but it's all gone a bit by the wayside with funerals, weddings etc.

I haven't been out much recently, I haven't really felt like doing much to be honest.  The first big thing I've been to in ages is our friend's wedding.  We had such a brilliant and hilarious time, it was a full-on three dayer and it's taken a while to recover.  Boringly it takes so much longer these days!  I've been trying to sort through my photos to post but as you can imagine there's tons and some of them are questionable.  We were supposed to keep a lid on ourselves but of course that didn't happen.

The Actor and I went to Somerset last Thursday evening and I had a last minute panic that I had no jewellery to wear.  My friend Husam el Odeh came to the rescue and lent me some of his fabulous pieces.  Here's some snaps I took before we left.

This gold, smokey quartz and clear quartz knuckleduster ring

I love it

I wouldn't want a smack in the chops with it though

These beautiful hand made gold and silver bangles

And the cuff that I admired at his studio warming party

He also lent me this ear cuff

How unusual is that?

I had to get a few snaps before I returned them

The Actor's had a few hints dropped.

Thank you so much Husam, I loved wearing your beautiful jewellery xxx

I hope everyone is good.  I really will be catching up with you very soon.  It's been far, far too long.  I haven't wanted to blog anything until I've caught up with everyone but that will take a while.

I've just heard the very sad news that Lucian Freud has died, I want to post something about him, I'll do so at the weekend.

Charlie and Nav's wedding pictures to follow and I look forward to reading what you've all been up to.

Have a great Friday.  Much love, Christina xxx

Oh wow, stunning jewellery - I would be petrified to wear anything borrowed. I don't even like owning valuable stuff because I worry about losing it! xx

The jewelry, especially the ring, is beautiful. But your hands are lovely too. Please don't feel obligated to visit me...sometimes that feeling of obligation can take the joy out of blogging.

Hello Christina:
Who needs diamonds when you can access this beautiful jewellery? You look marvellous wearing it and we are certain it would have looked wonderful at the wedding.

So sorry to learn of the death of LC. A very talented painter and a brilliant mind.

Dearest Christina,
that cuff is stunning, as for that knuckle duster ring, epic! Husam is obviously an amazing & beautifully imaginative designer.
I was admiring your DIY dye efforts in your last post, what a gorgeous colour and both garments came out looking a more stunning than the already were, so well done.
Have a fabulous weekend, let's hope we get a break from this incessant rain :)
Lot's of love,
Jennie

Now that's what I call 'friends with benefits'! Beautiful jewellery especially the ear cuff. I know what you mean about recovery times, it takes me days to recover from one night out! xx

Hi Christina,
It's nice to take a break from the laptop, I was in France for three weeks and turned mine on only once, it was pretty great.
The jewels are fabulous on you and you are looking beautiful!
I will look forward to your post on Lucien Freud very much. xoDani

Oh what beautiful stuff. Weren't you nervous about borrowing it? I'd have been terrified in case I'd lost it or dropped it down the loo or something. You must make the Actor get you the two cuffs. They're stunning, esp the ear one.

So glad you had a fab time at the wedding after all the recent stressful times.

Aw! Hope you're well. We really need to do that drink one of these days!

I'm absolutely drooling over that jewellery. All of it. The ear cuff is amazing. And I'd already debated purchasing that knuckleduster ring. And the bangles. YUM.

Aren't you lucky to have such a talented and generous friend. That cuff is out of this world, it has such a gorgeous visual weight.

I'm glad you had a lovely time at the wedding. I would have a hard time recovering from 3 solid days too! Please don't comment on my blog when you have so much else to catch up on, it takes a lot of time and though I love your comments I don't want you to feel stressed about something that is supposed to be fun xxx

I am so glad to see you back - I have missed you and been worried about you because you NEVER go this long without posting!

The jewellery is beautiful - quite stunning and it must have broken your HEART to return all those divine bangles!!!

Am at Conference. So far - have hang-over, no notes written, two interviews that exist only 'in my head' and hair like you wouldn't believe.

So glad to have you back!

Wow - stunning!! Not sure about the earring - but love the rings and bracelets. I'm on catch up in the blogosphere as well!! And like Tabitha, I hadn't heard about Lucian Freud either - so sad, first Cy Twombly and now him - 2 icons in the art world.
