Are diamonds a girl's best friend?

I wonder if Marilyn's diamonds are real?

I love anything sparkly and I adore jewellery.  I'm quite boring though I just wear the same jewellery all the time.  I don't have any diamonds, apart from some diamond stud earrings which are the only earrings I wear apart from pearl studs.  A boy once bought me a gorgeous antique diamond ring but I gave it back when we split up.  All the rings and pendants I wear now are made of semi-precious stones.

The Actor has seen my taste in diamond engagement rings when we've been window shopping (three carat plus solitaire) and his eyes popped out of his head when he saw the prices.  He's in no rush to spend that kind of money. Luckily I don't mind what I wear as long as it sparkles.

My belly button

I have a big "diamond" in my belly button.  Yes, this is my actual belly button.  The Actor's eyes will roll when he sees this and he'll be like "Have you taken a photo of your belly button and put it on your blog?"  Well, yes I have.  I couldn't find a picture on the internet I liked.  Some of them looked a bit deformed and quite put me off.  I'm not actually that yellow it's the lighting in my sitting room this evening.  I have no idea what this one's made of, it could even be crystal.  I've had it for absolutely years.

I had my belly button pierced when I was twenty five at a place in Clerkenwell called Into You which was highly recommended as the place to go.  The chap who did it was brilliant.  There was no time for any fuss he just put some antiseptic on and went straight in with a banana shaped needle!  Thankfully it didn't hurt as the adrenalin kicked in immediately.  When you first have it done they give you a surgical steel hoop with a big ball bearing thing on it.  I didn't want a dull looking steel one so I asked him for something a bit jazzier, which he thought was hilarious.  He humoured me and came back with a pink crystal ball bearing instead.  I was much happier with that!  They tell you to take it easy after you've had it done but never one to take advice I went straight to the pub to show all my friends.

I've always thought I'd get a tattoo but I've never got round to it.  All the ideas I originally had have now been done so it's sort of fallen by the wayside.  I do like them though and I'm always interested in other people's.

Amethyst and ruby coloured

I have lots of different ones, these were the only two I could locate but I have blue topaz, yellow topaz, emerald green and aquamarine too.  I like the ones with big stones and I'm not keen on dangly bits swinging off them.

When I first had it done I had one like this but in surgical steel with a pink crystal ball bearing.  Can you imagine me with a plain grey surgical steel one?  That would be too dull.

Here's a selection that are sold at Into You - these are all 18ct gold

Marilyn and some diamonds - I just loved this picture.

Do you have any piercings or tattoos?  If so what do you have?  or if not, what would you like? xxx

I'm so dull nothing - have held hands through piercings and tattoos of many a friend but apart from ears which I wish I'd never had pierced I'm a dullard. I wanted a tattoo but never got round to it or found anything I truly liked/wanted.

Your stones for belly piercings look the biz and a perfect flat stomach too!

Mind you diamonds are a girl's best friend is a great number and a great excuse to have Marilyn pics xx

Dear Kate, I think it's probably too late for me to start having tattoos now and I doubt I'll get anything else pierced. I think if you haven't now you'll be glad about it.

My stomach's not flat, more curved I'd say. The bit where the piercing is just looks flat.

Yes I did think about adding a youtube but maybe that's overkill? xx

Snap! I have a banana bar in my tummy. I had mine done when I was 22, down in Bournemouth when I was hanging around with a 'surfier' kind of set... I go weeks, months forgetting it's even there and I haven't changed it in ages. My then boyfriend bought me a lovely dragonfly to go in once I could take the plastic banana bar out (I didn't get a hoop, weirdly enough).

My favourite one I had was a pearl bar but it fell out the first day I wore it and I never got around to replacing it.

I've seriously considered a tattoo, and if I did I know exactly what I want, but I'm petrified that as soon as I do it - I'll see a photo of Lily Allen or whoever running around with exactly the same one. I'm also starting to think that I might be a bit too old to get it done now...

I'd be too afraid to put a hole in my belly button, in case I scooshed off up to the ceiling and got stuck in the light fixtures. I'm glad not everyone is such a sissy though.

oh yes, that's a belly that's not had to pop out to accommodate a little blighter lol!

I only have my ears pierced - but have had it done about 6 times. My body just keeps saying 'great, the pin is out...start healing boys!' and next time I try to put earrings in - holes are shut.

A metaphor for so much in my life...

No tats either. Look great on people when they are young and skinny, but old ladies with tats will look like they've worked the docks. As dockers.

but what the hell - who cares what we look like when we're old? No other bugger will give a toss!

Dear Miss Peelpants, ooh a pearl one sounds good. Shame you lost it.

I'm the same everytime I think of one I see it on Jordan or Victoria Beckham or someone later on... xx

Dear Legend, it's not that bad as it's just fat. I can't be doing with the ones that are near bones, like eyebrows and things. I always think you'll get that caught on something. I don't think belly button piercing's are good on a man though xx

Dear Ali, just leave some studs in and they won't heal up. I think we've both gone past the time when tats would work xx

I had my done in Rhyl market .. I was 38 at the same time I had my nose pierced and an earring in the top of my ear... I had a bleached blonde crop. Darren called this my Greenham Common lesbian phase..I say it was my mid life crisis.
I ended up taking the belly one out as it was still the steel hoop and it kept catching on my jeans. I would walk in everywhere with my jeans open, a year after I discovered Miss Sixty that were so much lower cut. I also think after giving birth to two large boys it would never have looked as good as yours :)
The nose ring diamond (crystal) I took out after seeing older women in Sainsburys with one..trashy also when Harry started school I could see the teachers looking at me, and something inside wanted them to take me seriously. So all have healed up now I still have the little scars though.
I dont have any tattoo's but I do like them.

I only have my ears pierced. I toyed with tattoos many time but there was never any design I say or felt very strongly about to want to live with for the rest of my life. I love sparkly things though. Doesn't matter if they are real of not Xxxx

You have such a nice stomach! I do want more piercings but I have far too much flab around that area to ever think of getting my belly button done.

Mine are all in my ears - normal on either side and then a plain silver stud in my right tragus and a little green stud in my left helix. I really do want more because I love the feeling of getting it done, it's just knowing where I can put them that doesn't start looking too teenage emo kid!

No tattoos for me although I really do love them on other people. I'm a complete sucker for tattooed men, I like to trace the outlines with my fingers.

No tattooos or piercings, very boring. I did beg my parents to let me get my bellybutton done when I was 15. They refused, and I never got around to it when I was old enough!

I'm another who has always wanted a tattoo, but never known what to get. I know myself, I change my mind too often and would inevitably get bored with whatever I had chosen.

My friend gets his tattoos at Into You, they are nice in there. Mr D has the Scottish dragon on his upper arm, it is one of the nicest ones I have seen.

Hiya!

I have my nose and my belly pierced and also a small tattoo on my back. I don't think I would ever take my nose out. But say I got pregnant, I don't think I would put my belly piercing back in after birth. I think the belly piercing is a bit dated now.

Love ♥

Well, I'm totally blown away with all this information about piercings. My daughter came home with a belly-button piercing, I died, next day it went away. And, my ears? The hole on the right side insists on closing so I have to regularly go get it redone. YUK.
I wear big diamond studs (the stones belonged to my grandmother)&
never use anything else unless I'm going out for a bit evening. OK, C, is the big dangling ones you don't like for the belly or the ears? No tats, my son & his wife are bonkers over theirs. xx's

What a neat belly button you have! I've got mine done (I was about 25, impulse decision) and am currently sporting an emerald sputnik type thingy. Other than that it's ears and nose, small tribal tattoo on my back and my eyebrows are tattooed on.
I'd love more but just not brave enough. xxx
