Julie Newmar, the original and the best Catwoman. I thought she was unspeakably glamorous. Looking at these pictures reminds me of being at school in the Seventies and coming home for tea on a tray in front of the television. My mother had OCD so anything to keep me from messing up the house. I would try to put off doing my homework for long enough so I could watch Batman. I really only watched it for Catwoman, I didn't mind Batman, Robin got on my nerves and I couldn't bear The Penguin.
Anyone who was around the Seventies will also remember how hit and miss it was actually watching the television as it would go off without warning due to the strikes. I remember being about four years old and crying because Play School had gone off and it would be another evening of Snap or Snakes and Ladders, often with candles due to the power cuts.
Originally a singer, dancer and glamour model of her day Julie Newmar's is famous all over the world as Catwoman although she continued to appear in a number of films and TV series. Julie is 76 now, she must have had work but she looks pretty amazing. At 42 she was used as a model for Thierry Mugler, her hourglass figure being perfect for his designs and she also featured in George Michael's Too Funky video. Now she concentrates on business and has been involved in beauty, hosiery, property and garden design. Here's her website.

I loved the original batman when I was little..Hard to imagine Catwoman at 76, I don't know how old she is in the last photo but the work she had had done is great as she still looks like herself xx
